Refugees Platform in Egypt, an independent organization working to defend human rights, support people on the move, and advocate for their rights, quoted the family of the two children as saying that the reason they were in the area was their work cleaning new buildings. The attackers, however, did not verify the matter and instead detained them under threat, beat them, and tied them to an electricity pole in front of everyone.
