The Sudanese community in Egypt announced the sudden disappearance of Mohamed Salah Abbas, a former diplomat and ambassador to Sudan, last Friday in mysterious circumstances, and his whereabouts have not been found or found so far.

The community added, in its Facebook posts, that a police station report had been written and the authorities had been informed of the disappearance of Mohamed Salah, as he entered the Nour al-Islam Mosque in Madinaty in Cairo, to perform Salatul-Jumu'ah/Friday Prayer, and was not found after that.

Alaa, the daughter of the disappeared former ambassador, told Al-Arabiya that her father came to Cairo at the end of last October to spend a short vacation and visit some family members residing in Egypt. He went with her mother to perform Friday prayers in a mosque in the Madinaty area, east of Cairo, and disappeared after the prayer and did not return to his home so far, and contact with him was lost.

Mohamed Salah held several positions as ambassador to his country, in different countries, and in South Korea. His daughter denied that he had Alzheimer's disease or that there were enmities between him and anyone, stressing that her father's relationship with all parties in Sudan and Egypt is good.

Alaa indicated, "She is concerned about the fate of her father, especially since he has been missing for more than 10 days and knows nothing about him, in addition to that he suffers from some health problems, explaining that she is afraid of being robbed by force or being injured by some thieves."

Engineer Ahmed Samir, a friend of the family, told Al-Arabiya last Sunday, "The neighbours and relatives of the former ambassador checked the surveillance cameras, and discovered that he left the mosque after performing the prayer and headed towards the exit gates from the area of Madinaty, after which he disappeared and became out of sight."
